Class 485

The class 485 EMU's (4VEC) and the class 486's (3TIS) were introduced to the Isle of Wight electrified lines in 1966, having been converted from 1924 London Transport Underground stock. Conversion consisted of re-connecting the electrical systems to run from third-rail instead of fourth-rail pickup.
