Class 455/8
The class 455/8 EMU's were the first Southern units based around the mk III bodyshell designs, introduced in 1982. Their design differs from 455/7's and 455/9's by having a full-height cab over the centre communicating door with air-horns either side, whereas other units have a rounded cab-roof.
